Maybe it was meant to be.

The charities (Red Cross and United Way) that seem to have the best inside connections with government and get the "official" mentions are not the most affective. The most affective charity sticks to its knitting, gets more good work done, and gets less insider Washington notice.

Inevitable, I suspect.
