I hadn't thought about eminent domain with regard to NO; it would just be a further shame what damage that SCOTUS ruling did if that's another reason people risked their lives. A SHAME.

I didn't 'til this morning.

But I'll bet you anything that emminent domain considerations are starting to come into play. If I were the folks with property in NO, I'd be on guard.

I just saw a news item I consider odd. Local news had a piece showing 50 Charleston police officers returning from Katrina relief. They took supplies and boats with them, and returned with the boats. The reporters only asked them what things looked like. Nothing about what they did while there or more important, why are they back so soon?
