This thread is for Katrina news and updates.
Rush is in absolutely fine form today and hitting on a lot of great points.
Since when is a DumRat not in favor of a Congressional Investigation?
Well if she doesn't want the Rats to participate, so be it. The investigation should go on anyway, without them.

is she lifting the gag order?
He sure has been right on the few minutes I have been fortunate enough to hear him. Have any Republican Senators or House members besides the one from CO spoken out in public against Mary and her group? Louisiana's sure haven't.
Yeah, I turned on the Senate and it was showing a presser with Nancy....and she kept getting asked (shocked me) WHY she would refuse to let any dems participate in the bi-partisan commission...
She kept saying it "isn't bi-partisan", and yet it was announced to be bi-cameral and bi-partisan...she just kept saying it "isn't bi-partisan"...after about 3 reporters repeated the same question...
She FINALLY admitted why...because SHE wasn't invited in on the planning stage....so all of this is because she is in a snit about not being a big-wig...
but, after they way she was making fun of Bush and blaming him for everything yesterday AFTER being in a meeting with Bush....WHY would the rest of the leaders want her there?
Anyway...I hope that Hastert, Frist, and Delay have the stones to call her bluff, and start the investigation.
I haven't heard if Reid is going along with Pelosi, or will let the dems in the Senate participate...
Rush mentioned today that Pelosi broke an age old rule that private conversations with the president are NOT to be discussed.
STATE OF FLORIDA V. ROBERT E. MONEYHAN A/K/A DEMON MOON, ET AL.
Florida's Attorney General sues the registrant of different web sites for allegedly trying to solicit money under the guise of raising funds to help Hurricane Katrina victims by misleading contributors, and failing to comply with various Florida advertising and charitable organization laws.

I had to help my husband with something. I'm glad the press didn't just let it go and kept after her why she was "pretending" it wasn't going to be bipartan. Part me is actually pretty shocked the press didn't let her get away with that spin.
I haven't heard any Congressmen speak out and support the president. It's really discouraging.
I don't get why there was a gag order to begin with. Maybe she just wanted to get the talking points in order before letting them speak.
Pelosi told a CNN babe to quit her job and go to work for the Bush White House. LOL

Landrieu was wringing her hands with glee the first day saying they were going to get more money than anyone imagined from this -- nothing about all the people stuck and dying in NOLA, just gleeful that they were all going to get rich from this (it was shown on WWLTV at a news confrence the second day.)
I thought he had a great show and Sean is starting out strong today, too... came out slugging with the truth.
I don't think they can. There was something else they wanted to hold hearings on earlier this year and the rats refused to participate so they couldn't...however, the President COULD name a commission with subponea power -- I liked the idea on O'reilly last night of using retired military generals to look at it.

Sean Hannity just had a good point on his radio show - the president hasn't vetoed any spending bills. LOL
That will kill the LA politicians when they lie and say the president de-funded making the levees stronger.
Also, Rush mentioned today that more money is spent in Louisiana and New Orleans on Army Corp. of Engineer jobs than any other state in the nation, including California which I think he said has 9 times the population of Louisiana.
True and this was on the front page of the Washington Post today -- can you believe the Post???
The Post also reported that the Bush administration spent a little more on the levee system than the Clinton administration.
