Yep.

The problem is that he was a mid-level business leader and a political virgin. He campaigned (and won) on a promise to clean out the corruption in city government; a hopeless task IMHO. He was a republican at one time, but changed over to the Rats when he figured out that a Pubbie was going NOWHERE in South LA politics (especially in NOLA).

In business, especially BIG business, important decisions are made by committee or by one or two people at the top. As mayor, the big decisions all rested on his shoulders.

Not to in any way excuse his obvious ineptitude, but Nagin is obviously in WAY over his head in a shizhole of corruption and rampant lawlessness like NOLA. He probably would have done very well in a smaller city.

As bad as things were under Nagin, IMAGINE if Morial was still in charge. He'd have been leading the looters . . . .

The problem is that he was a mid-level business leader...

Iv'e worked with this level of un-expertise. He got into politics because he was inept. I'd like to see a documented copy of his resume... and others who like to bash President Bush.

Quite frankly, if I were still in college, I'd write a term paper on all of the ineptitude of the morons in politics. "Pros & Cons" would suit me fine.
