You know where to find Rush.
" Rush said the evac plan provides for communicating with people who have no tvs and radios. It was never implemented"
All copies of that plan are currently on fire.
Funny, dems didn't care while a disabled woman starved to death for 13 or 14 days, but let it be their voters.
Not that you can compare it.
Nor do they bat an eye when 45 million children have been killed by abortion. Their response? Planned Parenthood's gracious donation of Emergency Contraception or one month of Birth Control to Katrina Victims.
Not that you can compare it.
At the top of the Live Hurricane thread, there is a list of previous threads, I think thread 2,3, and 4 followed the pressers from LA.
Allbaugh said that before they rolled FEMA into HSD...the FEMA Director was in constant contact with the POTUS...and could just call when he needed to get help or tell the POTUS of conditions and such,...
Now that it is in the HSD...the Fema Director is so far down the totem pole...that there is no direct contact anymore...
MY TAKE: the 9/11 families and the 9/11 Commission, and the libs in Congress were SO SET on starting this monster department in the first place, and unfortunately, Bush went along (probably against his own common sense)...
and NOW...all of the ones that wanted this are blaming probably the one person that KNEW it wouldn't work...
JMHO, of course.
I wouldn't think. I have live in big cities and in a really bad neighborhood for a time, the ones that get stuck there don't know any better, just like Rush says because these liberals keep them dependent to get their votes.
"Yeah, he was a mayor! Talking about Nagin blaming blanko."
Chain of Command Whos Responsible For New Orleans?

If critics of the Hurricane Katrina disaster are going to play the blame game, they should at least play according to Hoyle.
A comment to a Blogs for Bush posting sums up my thoughts on the issue clearly. Im reposting it here in its entirety:
In case you arent familiar with how our government is SUPPOSED to work:
The chain of responsiblity for the protection of the citizens in New Orleans is:
1. The Mayor
2. The New Orleans director of Homeland Security (a political appointee of the Governor who reports to the Governor)
3. The Governor
4. The Head of Homeland Security
5. The President
What did each do?
1. The mayor, with 5 days advance, waited until 2 days before he announced a mandatory evacuation (at the behest of the President). Then he failed to provide transportation for those without transport even though he had hundreds of buses at his disposal.
2. The New Orleans director of Homeland Security failed to have any plan for a contingency that has been talked about for 50 years. Then he blames the Feds for not doing what he should have done. (So much for political appointees)
3. The Governor, despite a declaration of disaster by the President 2 DAYS BEFORE the storm hit, failed to take advantage of the offer of Federal troops and aid. Until 2 DAYS AFTER the storm hit.
4. The Director of Homeland Security positioned assets in the area to be ready when the Governor called for them
5. The President urged a mandatory evacuation, and even declared a disaster State of Emergency, freeing up millions of dollars of federal assistance, should the Governor decide to use it.
Oh and by the way, the levees that broke were the responsibility of the local landowners and the local levee board to maintain, NOT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.
The disaster in New Orleans is what you get after decades of corrupt (democrat) government going all the way back to Huey Long.
Funds for disaster protection and relief have been flowing into this city for decades, and where has it gone, but into the pockets of the politicos and their friends.
Decades of socialist government in New Orleans has sapped all self reliance from the community, and made them dependent upon government for every little thing.
Political correctness and a lack of will to fight crime have created the single most corrupt police force in the country, and has permitted gang violence to flourish.
The sad thing is that there are many poor folks who have suffered and died needlessly because those that they voted into office failed them.
For those who missed item 5 (where the Presidents level of accountability is discussed), it is made more clear in a New Orleans Times-Picayune article dated August 28:
NEW ORLEANS (AP) In the face of a catastrophic Hurricane Katrina, a mandatory evacuation was ordered Sunday for New Orleans by Mayor Ray Nagin.
Acknowledging that large numbers of people, many of them stranded tourists, would be unable to leave, the city set up 10 places of last resort for people to go, including the Superdome.
The mayor called the order unprecedented and said anyone who could leave the city should. He exempted hotels from the evacuation order because airlines had already cancelled all flights.
Gov. Kathleen Blanco, standing beside the mayor at a news conference, said President Bush called and personally appealed for a mandatory evacuation for the low-lying city, which is prone to flooding. (emphasis mine)
The ball was placed in Mayor Nagins court to carry out the evacuation order. With a 5-day heads-up, he had the authority to use any and all services to evacuate all residents from the city, as documented in a city emergency preparedness plan. By waiting until the last minute, and failing to make full use of resources available within city limits, Nagin and his administration f**ked up.
Mayor Nagin and his emergency sidekick Terry Ebbert have displayed lethal, mind boggling incompetence before, during and after Katrina.
As for Mayor Nagin, he and his profile in pathetic leadership police chief should resign as well. That citys government is incompetent from one end to the other. The people of New Orleans deserve better than this crowd of clowns is capable of giving them.
If youre keeping track, these boobs let 569 buses that could have carried 33,350 people out of New Orleansin one tripget ruined in the floods. Whatever plan these guys had, it was a dud. Or it probably would have been if theyd bothered to follow it.
As for all the race-baiting rhetoric and Bush-bashing coming from prominent blacks on the left, dont expect Ray Nagin to be called out on the carpet for falling short. You want to know why? Heres why:
Its more convenient to blame a white president for what went wrong than to hold a black mayor and his administration accountable for gross negligence and failing to fully carry out an established emergency preparedness plan.
To hold Nagin and his administration accountable for dropping the ball amounts to letting loose the shouts and cries of Racism!. Its sad, its wrong, but its standard operating procedure for the media and left-wing black leadership.
Mark my words: you will not hear a word of criticism from Jesse Jackson Sr., Randall Robinson, the Congressional Black Caucus, the NAACP, or Kanye West being directed toward Raymond Nagin. Why? Because he is a mere black politician instead of an effective elected official who happens to be black. In the mindset of more-blacker-than-thou blacks, black politicians who are on their side can do no wrong.
All those Able Danger documents made for good kindling wood. Those emergency evacuation documents should burn real good.
No thanks; I have a Rush 24/7 subscription, and I'd like to get my money's worth.
I figured out how to get his site stream loading in MPC, though it takes a bit of work. Thanks anyway.

'Governor' Blanco has enlisted Sandy Berger to find all of the state evacuation documents to help with the investigation of what went wrong.
Yes, it's time for truth, but there will be hell to pay for telling it. Rush will be called racist for telling it like it is.
Neal Boortz this morning said basically the same things about the "entitlement mentality". It's so true, so glaring, but we know what happens when you say anything the left can label "racist". Republicans are so sensitive, so timid, so afraid of being politically incorrect, we have to worry whether any white or black right thinking American will dare to speak truth.
Neal got a call from someone who asked, why are these people sitting in shelters waiting for help. why aren't they helping, he asked. Neal said, these people are doing what they've always done, waiting for someone to take care of their needs.
When I read this morning about people in the Houston shelter refusing to be moved to one in Kentucky, I thought, "uh oh". These hurricane victims, with their entrenched "entitlement mentality" just might refuse to ever leave. They might demand a lifetime of TLC from the good people of Texas. Then what would you do?
They refuse to leave their homes in New Orleans even now. They refuse to leave one shelter for another. Instead of Jesse Jackson telling these people they must cooperate with their rescuers, he's demanding they be sheltered close to home, that their communities and families not be moved so far away.
I bet Democrats are already worried about their voting blocks dissipating.
Hello Fudd! Congratulations!
To be very honest about, it's the traitors who make me the maddest these days. And I'm keeping track of who they are.
Rush said it s not just the libs and the media..the right has been pretty hard on President Bush too.
I don't get Rush for another 10 minutes...1 hour delay..
Has he mentioned that Cindy Sheehan's gang of idiots has set up shop in Louisiana and are REQUESTING DONATIONS...
Yep..they say they are there to help, but they want people to donate expensive computers and such....
What loser morons...and now they are USING this disaster to further Cindy's cause..blech!
I am taking notes!
"the right has been pretty hard on President Bush too."
There are always those who panic and blame Bush to look like a good Conservative to the MSM.
I do want to tell everyone, there are already New Orleans policemen here in Atlanta on a free, 5 day R & R. When the Mayor talked to Katie Curok this morning on TODAY Show, he said these policemen are being given a choice of going to either Atlanta or Las Vegas. He said they deserve this after all they've been through. He said they will receive counseling while here
I just heard the Mayor say how late FEMA and Homeland Security was in bringing help to the city. For all that time, the poor, beleagured police had to do everything. Look for that new spin to be oft repeated in the coming days.
