Exactly. They've already paid for their crimes, and while they "might" reoffend, they might not either. It was not up to this guy to make that judgement.

We are a nation of laws, people; you may not like the rules but you cannot take it upon yourself to break them. If you want rule changes, vote for the folks who'll change them.

And what do you do when those elected won't enact effective laws, or the courts won't enforce them? In short, when the very government whose first responsibility is to protect its citizens, fails miserably to do so? It's 4 years between election cycles. A long time to wait for redress of grievances at the ballot box. And NO guarantee of change even then. How many children can predators harm or kill between elections?
The guy who offed these two scumbags should be tried for murder. THAT law works, at least. He'll probably get a harsher sentence for his crime than his victims got for thiers. But I'll be damned if I'll cry any tears for the two SOB's he killed. Have they "paid" for their crimes? NEVER enough. Their victims will also pay, every day of their lives. Just ask my sister, pal. She'll tell you.

Sounds good, but have you ever tried it? Finding a politician who will promise to change the law is fairly easy. Getting him to keep his word once he's in office is another thing entirely.
Anarchy definitely has some bad things to go along with it but if rapists (and promise-breakering politicians)did so with the possibility of forfeiting their lives they might either be more civil or else not run for public office. Either would be an improvement.
