This story about the two cops who killed themselves stinks...

Bingo. Especially considering the seemingly credible stories of a major ongoing federal investigation of the NOPD and the endless accusations of a corrupt force.

What better time to take out a potential witness or settle a drug money related dispute.

And just because the NOPD claims they can "account" for 66% of their officers does NOT mean that they are present and at their post.

We'll probably never know what really happened to those 2 officers, but considering it was/is so easy for them to just walk away suicide just seems too convenient.

The replays on this thread disgust me, and a large number of Freepers. We're talking about a situation more akin to the siege of Sarajevo, or the US presence in Mogadishu. The NYPD, had their own challenges, but they were highly isolated. Less than 1/2 of a square mile and perimeter security. All of the innocent victims except a handful of those pulled out in the first seconds of the collapse, were dead in less than 4 hours.

Every officer on the NOPD has lost someone they know personally, some have lost their entire world as they knew it, and people on here are disparaging them. It's disgusting.

(That being said, there are legitimate questions about corruption within the NOPD.)
