They are atheists whose grandparents were Jewish.
"...... it had no policy preventing a student from praying during free time"
What is "free time"? I never had "free time" when I went to school.
Is this the time between classes? Or lunch time?
However they are secular ethnic Jews (or cultural Jews), not religious Jews. There is a BIG difference!
And here's another tidbit for you - all this nonsense about the moslem kids praying in school when class is not in session is for the birds. Besides being a religion of piss, it is also a religion of extreme convenience. If you can't pray at those 5 different times of the day, you can do all your prayers in a single session. The school boards ought to bring up that little detail and all Americans need to educate themselves more about this 'religion' that instructs that a state will create a state for the enemies of God. (US support of Israel). The leader of that state will usher in a new world order (Inaugural address of GHWB). That's when the believers are called to war. It's time for us to say, in the words of Ray Stevens, "We've got your terror right here, we're gonna run it up your rear."
They want to talk about community (ommah), let them show some community-type sentiments and help their moslem brothers in Darfour. Or wait! Isn't it the moslems who are bothering the other moslems in Darfour?
Somebody help me. I'm so confused.
What I'll accept is that my faith will result in derision, ridicule, contempt and feckless slander. I will be hindered, scorned and mocked for my faith. I will be prevented from sharing it with others under the guise of multi-cultural pluralism (as such it will be demanded of me to keep my faith to myself in the name of tolerance).
But don't tell me I can't pray in school prior to eating lunch. Don't tell me I can't pray before taking a test, or before a major school event. Neither can others be prohibited from doing the same with me. Neither can I be prohibited from studying the Word of my faith, nor leading a study group in that regard.
With this comes the responsibility of accepting that I live in a world where others may disagree, and I should be polite towards their viewpoints (as misguided or misinformed as they may be). I must not thrust myself upon them, I must not be obnoxious, I must be wise as a serpent, but harmless as a dove. I must love my brother (as myself), but hate the sin that they may be want to practice. I must not shirk my responsibility, ne, duty to call sin what it is. I must refrain from being a moral nanny to those who do not have God within them (but I will refrain from associating with them or any thing that may besmirch my repute, character and testiment of the Lord to others who may be seeing in my behavior the only Bible they'll ever see).
There's a difference between my faith and all others. Everybody else must pray in a particular way, everybody else has requirements pertaining to how, when, or with respect to a particular format and ritual the practice of their faith. In contrast, the Bible tells me that I should take my concerns to the Lord in private and secret not as one of the Pharisee's who proclaimed their faith for all to see. The Bible tells me that the Lord is the searcher of the hearts of men, and as such I should not judge my brother's state of salvation.
The Bible tells me that a few sentances of a sermon, a Christian's brief testimony with respect to being born-again, the symbolisim of: a simple washing ceremony, a mouthfull of bread, and a gulp of wine are all that is required of my faith (and the angels who see this are utterly astounded, astonished, mindboggled, and fascinated at the sheer delight, pleasure the Lord takes in those simple actions (they witnessed Lucifer fall from the heavens to the earth for far less than I'm guilty of) and they see His glory shine incomprehensibly even brighter than ever before in all that (the angels are stupefied with respect to all that). Despite the angels having had millenium to figure that out, they still can't quite seem to manage to get their brains around it (depsite their fervent desire to inquire into these things). Its not unbelievable to them (if it was they just couldn't believe it), but its so monumentally, colossally hard to believe, that they have no choice but to look at the object of already intense and utter devotion with even that much more amazement.
The Bible tells me that we all are akin to desperate wretches, clothed in filthy rags, seeking scraps out of dumpsters, and that nothing I can do will change that. However, the Bible tells me that Christ died to purchase my remission, to redeem me out of the slave market of sin, and that IF I should pray to Him in Christ's name, I will be heard by the Lord Father God.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
I was not aware of that and stand corrected.
This sure doesn't leave much hope for a "balanced" legal system, does it?
THE law is not equally protecting it's people. The people of the USA are facing discrimination, by a bunch of people who are terrorists, whose religion promotes no good to the world. Muslims represent terror and grief to all around them. A Muslim, in an Islamic country told me yesterday, that he did not see Islam for what it really is until 9/11 when he saw the Muslims rejoycing because Americans dying in such an evil way. He said that he knew then that he was on the wrong path.
They may be Jewish by birth, but they almost always aren't practicing Jews, and never take positions in favor of Judiasm.
Unfortunately, WE will reap what THEY sow...! It's the old story of cooking the frogs.
What!? No wiccan???!
Yes, they may be secular, but the "rights" they claim to be protecting are always turn out to be "Jewish" (i.e. in other words, they CLAIM to be religious, even if they aren't).
Man. That was really good. I'd say that is a story worth sticking to.
So they finally have gotten around to stabbing their own people in the back. Just shows their true colors.
