Baton Rouge, Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas simply cannot absorb this crush of humanity

Here-here. Texas has already taken 250,000 refugees. We need help too, otherwise the infrastructure will not be able to help these people really start over. We need to spread this out. Jesse do you want them to have a REAL chance or are you just trying to keep your voting block intact.

I'm sure he's looking for Texas and all our electoral votes to go blue now.

Of course they can't. Other states have been willing to help, but not enough of the refugees/evacuees (I'm not interested in that argument) have been convinced that they need to think about the future beyond tomorrow.
A convoy of busses from Wash. DC went down there, hoping to pick up 800 people to bring back. All they found were convoys of busses from other states - all of them went back home empty.

These people are being taken care of pretty well, and none of them want to move on yet. That says a lot for the generosity and caring of people in TX, LA, MS, etc. As time drags on, some of these people will either volunteer or be "encouraged" to move on.

I can try and comprehend the speed of his decision on this matter however I may go into meltdown trying to keep up, in real time, with his decision process.

I just saw, on Hannity and Colmes where the ladies in Houston in the Astrodome were invited to a tea party. They got dressed up in the best they had and went and had a good time. The important lesson here is they were treated like they were somebody. They would never have gotten something like that in the projects in NO. Its going to have an effect on these people. The more I watch the aftermath of this storm the more I realize that alot of these people were victims of people like Jesse Jackson. Just shoved aside and given the bare nescessities and ignored till voting time when they were probably paid attention to and made to feel important for their vote. No wonder they were so quick to vote Democrat. The Democrats gave them a little special attention once every 2 or 4 years. I know the Republican policies are better for them but they don't know that. Now they have a second chance. I hope the kindness they are being shown will have a profound lasting impression on them and get them out of that cesspool of the welfare state for good. Some of these ladies were Sr. citizens so their financial status probably won't change but maybe they can live a life with more dignity and peace somewhere than the life they had to endure in NO.
