"This was a test case, and we failed," Jackson Lee said.

Yes Rep Jackson Lee, I agree. The welfare state has most definitely failed.

I hope a lot of these people gain new lives from a culture of self reliance and hope.

"Don't ship evacuees far, Jesse Jackson says"

Yeah; can't be having them wandering too far off the democRAT plantation now, can we?

"It is racist to call American citizens refugees,'' he said."

Jesse Jackass....it is YOU who are the racist. It is YOU who act as if only the black victims matter. The white ones had it coming, eh Jesse?

Hey Jesse. Here's a message for you!

Jackass is usually good for comic relief; but, he needs stfu now!!

Just heard on the local radio hear we in upper eastt Tennessee are taking in 500 from the disaster. Have not yet heard details - the story I caught was someone asking for us to make up shoeboxes of toys, books, etc for the children.

This nonsense about not being "acculturated" makes me want to vomit. The folks who are fortunate to land here are going to find a very warm welcome. We will give them what they need to get on their feet. We will find jobs for them.

Any who decide they want to start new lives here will be will be encouraged to do so and helpd to that end. Getting off Jesse's plantation is a good first step.

He sounds in full panic mode.

My mom says Baton Rouge is overwhelmed. The population has doubled. The school system can't take in all of the new kids. All the grocery stores have lines to the back of the store and are constantly running out of stuff. Gas lines are long in Baton Rouge. There simply is not enough resources for one or two cities or states to absorb half a million refugees. Many of these people cannot return for up to six months or more. They will likely want to find homes and jobs where they are relocated to. Baton Rouge, Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas simply cannot absorb this crush of humanity. How about they move in with you, Jesse?

"It's a long ways from home," he said. "It's a long way from where they have lived, where they were acculturated."

I’ve lived – as an adult – in various places in Virginia, Hawaii, Maryland, Georgia, South Carolina and three foreign countries. I’ve had short stays in too many places to bother counting. I’ve never had a problem. Does that mean I have never been acculturated, that I am superior in some way, or that the people Jessie is referring to are inferior in some way?

As a side note – I wonder how much money Jessie has contributed to the relief effort.

Jackson said he appreciated the willingness of states as far away as Utah and Minnesota to take in evacuees but suggested such plans take them too far from their families and the homes that must be rebuilt.

This is like David Duke complaining about Utahns being sent to Detroit. There's a concern there, but one suspects it has little to do with distance.

Is there a bigger racist in America than Jesse Jackson? I defy anyone to find one.

---Jackson also lambasted the Louisiana office of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, saying it should have let the Red Cross into New Orleans immediately after the hurricane passed one week ago.

Homeland security officials told the Red Cross not to enter the city because they were trying to get residents out, not encourage them to stay, because most of the city was still under water, and because armed gangs of looters were in the streets.

Marsha Evans, president of the American Red Cross, said today the agency was ready to go in. Its volunteers understood the danger and were willing to do their jobs, she said.---

This is bogus. The Red Cross made the decision not to set up rescue centers within the city several years ago. The decided it was too dangerous. I's a matter of Red Cross policy.

Allow me to translate the Rev. Jackson's meaning: "I'm afraid that if the blacks see that the whites really don't hate them and are bending over backwards to help, that the blacks might no longer buy into my BS".

I don't suppose it ever occurred to this self-agrandizing idiot that these people are free agents and ultimately will determine their OWN destiny...and destination.

I haven't read any other comments, but I figure where they were "acculturated" is a big part of the problem.

Jesse probably uses the word racist with everyone and everything he comes into contact with.

Je$$e's problems as the head slave master, is the voting slavers of N O's are gone, and may never return to Jesse's N O's plantation. La might become a blue state in the next election.

Keep talking ,Jesse, you ignorant, low life SOB. America is laughing at your stupidity. The Government didn't fail them. YOU did by making excuses for them not being productive, self sufficient citizens all their lives. THEY have to be held accountable for making the decision to stay. No one made them stay. NO ONE. Not the President , not the government, nor the citizens or taxpayers. Quit blaming every body else for your ignorance and thiers. If you cared so much, where the hell are you when they were trying to evacuate them? It is easy to spout your bs from a stage. And yes Jesse. I did my part. I donated to ALL colors of people. Some of us DO NOT play the race card every time something happens to get publicity. If you truly care, DO SOMETHING......

Jesse just wants all these refugees to be concentrated in one area so that most financial help will also be in that area and it will be easier for him to get his hand into the cookie jar.

Just because Jackson was acquitted and returned to Neverland doesn't mean we need to seek out his opinion on this and everything else...
