I don't think he needs to worry about the CIA "taking him out" (to use a Pat Robertson phrase) but maybe he should seek the CIA's protection from the citizenry of NO, when they return that is.

No need to worry. HE DID HIMSELF IN. Me thinks now he's looking for a little pity after his blame game. This major job is way over his capabilities. I guess he thought he was qualified - having a big mouth and wanting all the perks made him the man for the job.
