Nagin FAILED to do ALL within his means to protect those who were not as able to leave as you were. It's as simple as that.

You had a car and got out and are safe. You are safe and I am thankful for that even though I don't even know you. However, those who COULD NOT, particularly the elderly and infirm, were LEFT unassisted by your seemingly beloved Nagin.

WHY wasn't the plan, already in place mind you, to use the busses implemented by the mayor of NO? If an 18 yo man can take it upon himself to commandeer a bus, fill it with infants and elderly people, pool resources to provide gasoline, diapers and formula, why couldn't the mayor have PREVENTED needless deaths of those he KNEW were vulnerable?

The truth of the matter is that New Orleans on the best of days is more like Guatemala City than it is like New York City. The city is third world. The city does not have the resources to fix a pot hole.

With that said the evacuation of the city was a miracle. It worked and almost everyone worked together. On Saturday morning, not only did the mayor ask people to evacuate but friends and family were calling each other to coordinate their evacuation and offer rides.

The sad thing is that the people in the 9th Ward had a horrible Option:

1. They could evacuate but knew with 100% certainty that if they did evacuate the criminals would loot their house.

2. If they stayed at least they had a chance not to lose everything.
