I wonder if the free Vegas trips are only for the 500 police who stayed, or are they also for the 1,000 or so who scurried outa town before Katrina and when the thugs started shooting at people?

Yeah, walking through Walmart in your uniform, pushing a big shopping cart through the aisles, and helping yourself to items for free can really take a toll on a police officer can't it?

Maybe Nagin's supply lines have been rerouted through Vegas. Or maybe he thinks the Vegas mafia will protect him from the hitmen who are out to get him.
