Is it fair to say, using the convention center as an example, that one reason it took until Friday to get aid in is the National Guard needed time to build up a response team with military police to ensure law and order because the New Orleans Police Department had degraded so much?

Well Geraldo was screaming that the convention center had 25,0000 dying souls at the convention center and then we find out that they evacuated 4,500. But hey 500% exaggeration of every story is what the media is all about.

That's another matter of the greatest curiosity, since members of the PD are required to reside within the city of NO. How could they not get to work. Are we to believe that they're trapped in their attics somewhere. Surely no one would suggest that they deserted their posts at the time of the city's most critical need?
