At this point it is starting to make less and less sense to even bother rebuilding this sh*thole. The two main industries in N.O. have been oil and tourism. The oil operations can be managed from elsewhere and I don't think their tourist trade will EVER recover.
1) make the President look bad (that is a given)
2)deflect attention from the inept, corrupt Government in what we call Louisiana, USA and 3)pretend that liberalism didn't breed these gangs of thugs.
I posted earlier in the week about Lt. Governor Landrieu getting legislation passed to basically give the criminals a slap on the wrist instead of serious prison time for their crimes;
We've seen the CrimeTv article on the police department and how corrupt it is...
The only way to keep the nasty truth from coming out is to place blame on the President which the MSM all love to do in the best of circumstances.
Bud Hopes for Governor of LA.
Jabbar Gibson for Mayor of New Orleans.
There, that is settled. Can we get Federal control implemented now?
Welcome to the future.
My God, those poor people! In 1986 my husband remodeled one of the major hotels seen through smoke yesterday. He KNEW this would happen. It is astounding to think NO officials didn't. They DID and did NOTHING to stop it.
"Everyone brought their drugs, they brought guns, they brought knives. Soldiers were shot.
"It was like a refugee camp within a prison.
"It was full on. It was the worst thing I have seen in my life. I have never been so frightened."
This sickens me to no end. But of course, this just one of many hundreds of reports that demonstrates how the brave, valiant citizens of NO are truly the scum of the earth. A pox upon them all. (Oh wait...according to the health officials, that's only just about to begin...)
save to send later
And these are the people we are importing into our cities. We must crack their heads if they get out of line. They should get the idea that we expect them to be more civilized than they were in NO.
The whites who were caught alone and murdered on flooded streets or bridges or in the dark corners of NO will be buried and forgotten. Nobody will hear about the slit throats, those shot in the head, or the raped and disposed of.
Shows who the real racists in America are.
Civilized behavior vs. uncivilized.
Shepherd Smith was lamenting the mayor's decision to evacuate tourists from the hotel directly without them waiting in line at the Superdome. He was implying this was a racist decision.
Why should the tourists have to be brutalized by the underclass, plus, they all had homes and the means to go home. A stupid, off the cuff attempt to be politically correct by Shepherd. The media stirred up much hatred in their attempt to overanalyze each situation.
It makes me damn mad when they are attempting to ambush the authorities during interviews even when the bodies have not been cleared out.

Things are still crazy, but we are making progress. Did any of you see Gen Honore in his news conference today? Now you know why people love this man.
The 82nd Airborne is still doing the house to house searches, and this will take a long time. They are finding the dead, and we are working to treat them with the dignity they deserve.
There are so many heroes in this operation, and I ain't one of them. The real heroes are the folks in New Orleans and in Mississippi. As Lt Gen Honore said today, Mississippi yesterday and today, there is swath of destruction 3 to 2 1/2 miles inland, and had not New Orleans flooded, MS would be the center of attention.
There are now 30,000 National Guard and 10,000 active duty in MS and LA. The military is now fully mobilized. So much to do though.
God bless.
Here's my take, Archidamus.
Had the Superdome been filled with a similar number of people from one of the black middle-class suburban neighborhoods of Atlanta, the racial composition would have been same, but there would not have been the murders, rapes, muggings, etc that we have read reports of.
While many other jurisdictions, such as New York City under Giuliani, paid close attention to social theorists such as James Q. Wilson and his "broken window theory" of crime, New Orleans apparently did not. While in much of the United States, civil and law enforcement authorities understood the importance of making extra efforts to raise their conviction rates and keep hardened criminals off the street longer, with the result that such criminals have less influence on the young people in their neighborhoods, and that crime rates dropped dramatically, and that the cultural atmosphere considerably improved, New Orleans apparently did not.
The blame lies first with those scumbags who are the criminals, but secondarily, with liberal policies that failed the people of New Orleans and these unfortunate foreign visitors.
"It's the culture, stupid"
Vacation of a lifetime!
