This is in regard to that idiot President Broussard that was blubbering on Timmy's show yesterday from Jefferson Parrish. I mentioned earlier on this or another thread that I had no idea how big the Parrish is and/or how much was flooded, but his accusations seemed a bit strange to me. I was just flipping channels and they just showed the cars rolling back into this Parrish (which was announced they'd be allowed to do right after his breakdown yesterday). Well, apparently 15% of the Parrish was flooded. I still don't know how badly, but why did they allow that poor woman to sit there for 5 days saying 'the calvary is coming'??? Surely if only 15% of the Parrish was flooded they could have found a way in via car and boat to rescue her. His statements and crying looked fake yesterday and it looks even faker today IMHO. That said, I realize I'm not there, but it stinks to high heaven like a set-up right now (even more than yesterday) to me.
Apparently the woman was in a rest home in St Bernard Parish. Her son should have evacuated her before the hurricane . If not he should have made his way there and rescued her. third how did she survive the week and then "drownded"? Was there some new higher flood waters? While I sympathize with anyone who lost a loved one, espcially a mother, the story seems suspect to me...Oh having phone contact was pretty lucky too...
If you can find a map showing the Parish boundaries, you'll understand.
Jefferson Parish crosses the Mississippi River. The portion "east" of the river flooded, along with the rest of downtown New Orleans, from a breach on the other side of the 17th Canal. The portion of Jefferson Parish "west" of the river fared much better.
