What Gibson said at the end of his show made sense... he said obviously Mike Brown didn't have a televison set in his office or he would have know what all of us knew... just as during the last riots in Los Angeles while us viewers were on the edge of our seats watching what was happening, for days the LA police department was behind the gangsters because the LAPD didn't have televison to see what we were all seeing on the ground.
I agree - I didn't see it as a Bush bashing. He began by talking about the incompetance of the NO officials. Then said Bush was loyal to a fault and needed to fire some people. (Ok, it was not cool when he said Bush needed to learn the 2 words in English language 'You're Fired.')
But this this is why he is saying Brown should be fired :

State and local officials did not inform top federal officials early on of the deaths and lack of food among hurricane victims in the Superdome or convention center, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said yesterday.
Mr. Chertoff said neither he nor Federal Emergency Management Agency chief Michael Brown was told of the deteriorating situation in New Orleans until Thursday night.
