Off topic comment: Has anyone heard any news out of Iraq lately? I don't hear about daily bombings, daily death counts etc. Could it be that things are moving along well now that the media isn't instigating and stirring up things?

Off topic answer - I think there have been some bombings, there was that mass casualy (500+) incident wehre a mob went over a bridge on belief of a terror attack. But otherwise, I think the Iraq activity is about the same as the past year - daily incidents, some with death of armed service.

I am happy to see that Sheehan witch and Aruba off the air - but would suffer through Cindy witch and Aruba a thousand times over if it would mean Katrina didn't swamp the Gulf Coast as she did.

Actually I just saw on the scrawl that Al-queda has decreed that Hurricane Katrina was sent by Allah to America to kill 10s of thousands and cost the US billions of dollars..

And Al-zarqawi says this is just punishment for what we are doing in Iraq.

There is your answer---I guess they feel that Mother Nature is doing "the dirty work" so they don't have to..

AND, listening to the politicians, they may be right. A house divided....and all that!

Maybe so.....we've lost two in five days, which is 2 too many, and it's very early, but if that rate were to follow for the rest of the month, it would be the lowest monthly casualty rate since OIF began. [data from lunaville]

. ,,,,and, in the Tel Afar area, some 200 terrorists have been taken out (as in "dead"). Thanks for reminding us......I have a son on his 3rd Iraq tour now, thanks for your prayers for Dan.

There's no reason for the terrorists to cause trouble if they are not going to get any press.
