There has been a few Republicans who have turned against the administration on this. They will live to regret it, their political careers won't.
Jindal said earlier that the White House should have broken laws to get the help in there...and waited until THURSDAY last week to bring help...
####
I despise lawmakers who advocate lawbreaking.
I heard that. Just added him to my list of people not to say stupid things to. Do not try BS with this man. He will shove it right back down your throat. Did you see that little smile on Chertoff's face as he stood to the side?
Hard to fit on a bumper sticker, though!
DONCHAJUSTLUVIT?? REPORTERS GOT IT SHOVED DOWN THEIR CHUTES TODAY!
Honore might just pull out his pistol and start shooting reporters while yelling "Take that you stinkin' commie!"
This is what we've been looking for!!! He was on target and confident! I love it!!!!!
I love this in a leader!
I didn't see it, but I can picture it! lol
Bwhaha!
"Get down to NOLA and check out the stories yourself."
"Stop repeating what you do not witness"
I bet they phrase their questions more carefully in the future. He was real mad about the suggestion that the rescuers werent doing well too.
I predict a fourth star in the General's near future.
I demand Honore be brought back. This was like the days when we watch Rummy bust heads and Ari go after the W.H. press core, and I think he may have given them both a running for top spot!
I saw it .. too funny
Cool, President Bush is in Poplarville.
"Jindal has turned out to be a surprising disappointment!"
He's turned into a POLITICIAN. What do they have in Congress for the newbies - a brainwashing machine?? So much for his meteoric rise and to have him among the Republican leadership.
Blissfully unaware of his surroundings, and blissfully aware of himself. Fits most of the media idiots. I'm past being sick of them. I now think they are clowns.
New Orleans is an entirely different matter. There are no laws being broken by local officials. Just gross incompetance. The last time the Federal government sent in troops to rid a state of its incompetant leadership it was called "the Civil War".
it was a question from a reporter using a comment from Jindal as its basis.
the administration needs to get more of this type of approach out there - this is going to go on day after day after day, constant harping and complaining. the polls are holding up OK for us so far, but we can't sit back, we've got to point out all of the things that are going well, and hit back hard against the media naysayers who say everything is going badly.
"Jindal has turned out to be a surprising disappointment!"
Now that was a press conference.
I'm LOL! My side is hurting right now
It's about damn time he shut some of these yapping reporters up. His anger is entirely justified. They are so intellectually bankrupt that all they can come up with is these ineffectual "talking points", which have been repeated ad nauseum every time an officlal press briefing is held. The same type of ignorant questioning took place at the military briefings in Iraq at the start of the war. Over and over again they repeat, like a small child who continues to ask, "Are we there yet?" during a family vacation. Way to go, General. I hope that sunk into her thick head, although I'm not that hopeful.
