It was only a matter of time, that many flight ops,
long hours for both pilots and crew, and Maintainance
personnel.

There are hundreds of helicopters down there right now flying what must be thousands of missions a day. A mishap is bound to happen as helicopter flying is inherently dangerous.
Glad to hear that everybody is okay in this one.
BTW, when I was in the Marines, I flew hundreds of hours in a C-130. I took one helicopter ride and I was almost peeing my pants. Especially when it got a few hundred feet in the air and just hovered there with the side doors wide open. There's just something very unnatural about just hanging in the air like that. When I got off that helicopter, I said "never again" and I've never climbed onto one since.

I heard where one nearby air station has a typical day of 20-40 flights a day, the last two days they are at 100 or so each hour.

Don't forget all those overhead wires everywhere. Very dangerous to helicopter ops.

My thoughts exactly! On the other hand, the fact there has been only 1 accident just goes to show how darn good our guys/gals are..........Truly Amazing!
