Someone needs to show thse photos to Mayor Nagin of NOLA, with the pointed question appended:
Mr. Mayor, here are some 300+ buses in these two New Orleans lots alone.
These buses were yours to deploy, Mr. Mayor, to provide transport to the indigent and the stranded during the mandatory evacuation of the city you were elected to safeguard, prior to the storm and flood, in accord with a longstanding evacuation plan for the city and its surrounding areas.
Mayor Nagin, why did you not make use of these, YOUR resources, to fulfill YOUR duty to YOUR charges?
One round trip with 300 buses loaded could have gotten 12,000 people out of NO in one trip. That's if the each had a seat (40 per bus). SRO gets probably 18,000 people out in one round trip. What is better, a 3 1/2 hr bus ride to Houston, and get there with wet pants, or 5 days in the Superdome? Let Sharpton and Nagin spend 5 days in the stinkin' Superdome.
The first time I saw a picture of busses I honestly didn't know what they were. It looked like a computer graphic. The moment I realized what I was looking at I became very pissed and have yet to cool down.
