" instead of supporting tough new measures"

What tough new measures? Like all of Blair's 'initiatives' I wouldn't expect this to be anything more than froth and spin. He comes out with statements like this every 6 months or so...

From the article:

Tough new measures, to be detailed later this year

I agree....it's hard to get too enthusiastic without any specifics and with such a dismal track record on this issue.  At least he's not defending the status quo as our Left loves to do re crime and social collapse.   If the Tories keep on with spineless liberal pap as what's shown in this article, then Labour will be in a strong position in the next elections....the public is sick of the yob culture and I'm guessing they will support tough changes....provided they get implemented in the first place.  Let's hope that PM Blair will FINALLY put his words into action....if he doesn't, I'm guessing the public will have little patience.
