As much as both Art Bell and George Norry drive me nuts (global warming and "peak" oil and "Daddy Warbucks" Republicans, respectively) both are excellent radio personalities, IMO. BTW, "Daddy Warbucks" is my term and is from the W.W.II-era -- even when Democrats are in charge and America is fighting for Her life many Rats have nothing but acrimony for political opponents. Go figure.

Both have addressed the "posing nary a critical question" question. Yes the guests say what they please, as long as it is not going to insult the audience. Both have terminated guests and on a few occasions there has been turmoil off air. I started listening to Bell about twenty years ago before UFOs.

But here's the important part. Few guests are crackpots. Some deal with outside the mainstream stuff. But! A large number of guests are mainstream reporters, businessmen, scientists, educators, etc. and they are on for three hours usually -- not ten or fifteen minute sound bites. If you can / have to stay awake at night most shows are worth it. IMO.

Shoot. I have been on CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox News, NASA channel, Discovery channel, and TLC.

Have yet to be on "Coast to Coast". - Guess I still have not made the "big time"! Sigh.
