The city leaders had at least two full days to use these hundreds of buses to evac the poor, exactly as their own emergency management plan called for.
Here's the southeast Louisiana evac plan supplement, most recently revised in 2000. Go to page 13, read paragraph 5. It states:
5. The primary means of hurricane evacuation will be personal vehicles. School and municipal buses, government-owned vehicles and vehicles provided by volunteer agencies may be used to provide transportation for individuals who lack transportation and require assistance in evacuating.
Many abandoned buses with many abandoned people.
Fox News had a women from New Orleans in Houston yesterday.
Her sign read: WHY HAVE YOU ABANDONED US RAY NAGIN?
That's the story.
"The city leaders had at least two full days to use these hundreds of buses to evac the poor, exactly as their own emergency management plan called for."
What???? You mean a hurricane isn't like an earthquake? Do you really have time to prepare and evacuate? I wonder what Hillary has to say about this?
The evacuee I talked with last night left on Friday (before the storm) with his wife.
He still doesn't know what he's going to do and finds communication to be horrible. At least he got out alive and even had the opportunity to protect a few of his things.
He didn't know that some of his "friends" were already working to take up a collection for him. I helped him get in touch with them and other efforts. He's got medical skills and we have one of the top 3 medical centers in the world. He should be able to get work if he chooses to stay.
The writing was on the wall for those who bothered to pay attention.
Great job, Travis. Taking the two photos and the actual text from their own emergency management plan.
Hmmm...Can you direct me to the part that requires the POTUS to provide that this take place without him declaring martial law? /sarc
