You see coverage from Leventhal in MS - private people are driving in from Florida with 55 gallon gas gans in pickups, selling fuel off the them to people. I don't see FEMA confiscating it.

That's MS. Not NOLA. Those are private parties, probably operating where FEMA can't interfere or isn't around. I would doubt FEMA would cut phone lines or seize fuel in front of the cameras. Usually, people avoid criminal acts when the news cameras are watching them.

We'll find out more when the hearings start. There are plenty of witnesses to what FEMA has and hasn't done. So far, the list of senators holding hearings is: Frist, Snowe, Lieberman, Hagel, Nelson, Landrieu. These are just the ones already announced.

before you can get a vehicle loaded with fuel into the affected area, there are checkpoints everywhere. I don't hear any other reports about FEMA seizing everything in MS and AL.
