This may cause some unhappiness. I am a life-long conservative and have not voted RAT since Adlai Stevenson in 1956.

Is this perhaps senile dementia setting in? I turned one in 1956, so I suppose you could say I don't know much about the politics of the era, but I suspect Stevenson would be considered far-right by most of today's liberals.
I think my major objection to this idea is that Clinton is most assuredly not anyone I'd want to see on THAT bench, ever. Not to mention that he's disbarred. Poor choice for Supreme Justice, IMO. I don't mind the current administration using him as the liberal poster-child for bipartisanship, but I don't ever want to see him in a substantial official position again. Has-been he is, has-been he needs to stay.

How about this: there is nothing "partisan" about being able to read. The ONLY, let me repeat,
ONLY, qualification for being a USSC justice is that you can read the Constitution.
Clinton flunks. He missed the "abuse of power" part.

OUTSTANDING IDEA! Appoint him and then let CONGRESS impeach and remove him as they should have done years ago. And while they are at it, IMPEACH AND REMOVE THE REST!
Leave Thomas, Scalia, and Rehnquist and restrict their jurisdiction to Original jurisdiction cases only.

Wow.
It's been more than 5 hours and about 200 posts since this zot-brained idea was posted.
Due to the fact he has been a FReeper since 1999, I suppose the mods are being nice and decided not to zot him.
Lord knows if I (since April) or any other newbie had posted this, we have have been spitting ozone.

You have lost your ever loving mind. Bill Clinton was never a centrist and George Bush would never appoint him.
Are you just lonely and need people to talk to and this is your way of making it happen?????????

Why would you want to inflict that sociopath on America again? Wasn't eight years enough? Bush and the country are still reeling from with the wreck he made of this country's security. Think Able Danger. Think Sandy Burglar. Think 9/11. China and all those technological secrets handed over for political contributions. Good grief. You must be joking.

I do believe Clinton began as a centrist in his party and did sign the welfare reform bill and so forth. Wrong. He moved toward the center for political expediency, but he is a leftist at heart. The only reason he signed the welfare reform bill is because the Republicans outmanuevered him.
No, your idea is wrong and bad and ill conceived. That's my opinion.

How about making clinton Chief Justice of SCOTUS and Secretary General of the UN at the same time. Then he could finish the work of aligning our Constitution with international law and custom.
