Behind the scenes, a power struggle emerged, as federal officials tried to wrest authority from Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Babineaux Blanco (D). Shortly before midnight Friday, the Bush administration sent her a proposed legal memorandum asking her to request a federal takeover of the evacuation of New Orleans, a source within the state's emergency operations center said Saturday.

What sends me over the edge is when there is a smoking gun, and the press/pundits ignore it like it's a pink elephant.

It's bad enough that the truth is that Dems were in charge before, during, and after Katrina, but when you add to it that the Bush administration, to this day, accepts responsibility for what went wrong...makes me wanna go postal!

Bush tried to take control of the situation away from the inept Blanco and Nagin...to save them from themselves...but they were worried about the politics...sheesh...what imbeciles.

Louisiana Democratic Party political corruption was responsible for the levees/pumps, and the poor response to Katrina in New Orleans.

Why is it that Florida seems to survive multiple hurricanes every year? It sure as hell isn't because of FEMA!
