We might be wrong... terribly vague, but it really doesn't matter. Total imcomptence on the parts of that paranoid mayor and the governor. The fact still remains that Bush made the right moves BEFORE the storm, and they didn't follow thru. They thought they'd dodge this bullet. Gambled and lost.
Big power plays are more important to those inept, corrupt politicians than the lives of their own citizens.
At the least, the article makes clear that Blanco didn't ask for help from other states to send National Guard until Wednesday (a few days ago).
I wonder how many little children were raped because she didn't request adequate protection for those citizens in shelters?
And somewhere on FR I read an article from another state where the head of the National Guards said he let her know that they were willing to help, but he didn't take him up on the offer until days later.
