I don't know about the other cable networks because I'm too lazy to get up and walk across the room and get the clicker, but from the minute that Fox finally announced that Rehnquist had died, they have blown away their SPECIAL COVERAGE of hurricane damage with its own special dreary music and switched to 24/7 LIVE coverage on a Saturday nite with Hannity, Colmes, Susan Estrich, the Judge from N.J., etc. It's 12:40 a.m. and this has been on for hours because the press likes this story much more than the one about unimportant ordinary citizens suffering and being rescued by the vile US military. They all care about who will make the court and none of them care about regular people so they will beat this story until there is nothing left of it. We'll be lucky to hear a blurb on the hour about the hurricane damage.

But you're not bitter, right? A Supreme Court Justice just passed away, and yes that is big news. That doesn't take anything away from the folks in NO...not at all. For you to say that no one cares about the folks in NO is just ridiculous. I'd like to know how much money you have sent to the cause? Please enlighten us. Thanks.

I didn't say nobody cares about ordinary people. I said THE PRESS doesn't care about them. Not that it is any of your business, but I donated $ 100 to the Salvation Army and have a donation of cash and bottled water ready to take to wherever the Clear Channel convoy says I should deliver it. Quinn and Rose will tell us tomorrow where to take what we bought over the weekend to send to the gulf to provide relief. Care to enlighten us on your philanthropy since you are the one questioning the amount of my gifts?

I think the death of a Supreme Court Justice is very important, but I do not approve of the speculation in regard to his replacement before he is even buried. Had Fox spent all the time discussing Rehnquist, I would have no problem. I can imagine what the other networks will do with this since the Democrats and thus, the MSM, is obsessed with preventing Bush from making any appointment that might move the court even 1/2" back toward the constitution.
