At least President Bush isn't a Yankee. BUT he is a Republican and down there that's probably worst. Can't let him as the head of national government take charge even if it means the citizens of Louisiana's lives and their most basic needs go unmet.

They have balked at every step of the way, since the Katrina was on the horizon.

If you listen to or read what they locals have been saying all along, they let enough slip out that you can read between the lines.
