Smart conservatives realized that fanatical rantings about the health of Ms. Schiavo and criticism of a Florida judge who appeared to be upholding the law were risky. When the autopsy was finally made public and proved Terri Schiavo had no chance to recover, the image of conservatives did, indeed, sustain some damage.

I know this thread isn't about Terri Schiavo, but can someone tell me why this guy gets paid big bucks and gets a huge audience when he plainly just doesn't get it? It wasn't about Terri's health, it was about holding government in check. And the government won.

Umm, since when did the right to live stop when you wouldn't recover from a particular state? I know plenty of cancer patients who won't 'recover', does that mean the state should force them to starve to death too?
