New Orleans deputy police commander W.S. Riley launched a bitter attack on the federal response to the disaster though he praised the way the evacuation was eventually handled.
My biggest disappointment is with the federal government and the National Guard.
Debbie Durso of Washington, Michigan, said she asked a police officer for assistance and his response was, "Go to hell - it's every man for himself."
Hey Chief...What about your force running away????
From OUR friends the French... Talk about hate America time. They can't even be nice to us after a tragedy.
I wonder if Commander Riley can enlighten us as to how many Guardsmen have deserted during this crisis, compared to the wholesale bugout of his own force?
The real question is, why is it that after all this time, Louisiana STILL can't figure out what drawer its Evacuation Plan is laying in.
I have never seen such a transfer of blame in my life. The politicians and police of New Orleans, who failed their citizens terribly, are criticizing others for not doing a perfect job of a job they should not be doing to begin with.
If that paragraph does not read clearly, it is because I am so mad I can't see straight.
