Nagin and Blanco have both certainly lost control of both themselves and the situation. For the sake of their communities, they should both resign immediately. The problem with that is, Is there a competent replacement on hand for either?

The problem with that is, Is there a competent replacement on hand for either? In Louisiana? I doubt it. However, I think there is probably some way they could temporarily cede full authority to FEMA. I realize that it is a drastic move, but with ever passing hour the two of them are making the situation worse.
