The guy is a loser. He had a chance when he was first elected, but he blew it.
Will they admit now that welfare as it is today is a trap?
Why didn't more people leave? For one thing, they weren't sure it would be any worse than Hurricane Hugo. Also, what percentage of the NOLA population is addicted to drugs? Tell a drug addict he's got to go to some city he's not familiar with and won't be able to get his three fixes a day and he's not going anywhere.
Small problem: There ain't no "hearings" unless the GOP majority SAYS there are hearings, so Osama Obama can call for whatever he wants to and nothing's going to happen.
In this case, welfare did trap these people. They were so intent on getting that welfare check on the 1st that they failed to heed warnings to evacuate the city.
However, we know President Bush warned Gov. Bozo Blanco days before the hurricane het to evacuate, and we know the Nat. Hurricane Center Director warned Mayor Numnut Nagin to evacuate the city when he noticed Numnut Nagin failing to heed the initial warnings.
I bet the TV stations and radio stations' recordings will be seized to see how the word was given to the people. We know Numnut Nagin failed to utilize the massive number of busses he had at his disposal, but did he plead with the radio and TV stations to get the people out?
From what I heard, Numnut Nagin admitted that he did not feel it wise to get all the people out of the inner city. Can someone find that quote? Nagin did say he thought it was a bad idea to get all the people out--some lame excuse he gave and somebody here has to have a link to that.
Yep.
Yes, elections are important. That is self-evident. Elections do no good when the people you vote for don't do what they said they would do. Elections do no good when the people you voted for (I live in Ohio, as you may have guessed) who ran as Republicans turn around and do the Dims' bidding. Elections don't count for anything when minority Dumbocrats are *allowed* to hold hearings to excoriate Republican Presidents or proposed appointees, and the Republicans (RINOs) join in with them.
Your unwarranted personal attacks are destroying your credibility. We were being warned against Obama and the RINOS and the Democrat-MSM propaganda machine. Those warnings are justified. Whether the leftists will succeed in these attacks by turning public opinion against President Bush, his administration, and the conservative cause, is a legitimate matter for discussion, or speculation.
