I have to say that anyone who owned a gun shop in New Orleans and fled without taking the guns out with them should be prosecuted for criminal negligence and accessory to murder. Everyone in that town knew how huge the criminal element was, and it's ridiculous that anyone selling guns would not know that the criminals would break in and take the guns!

The gun shop owners were irresponsible. They should not be allowed to reopen within the city, ever. I don't care what all you gun enthusiasts say, this was unconscionable negligence. NO police force should have to waste its time and resources protecting gun shops abandoned by their owners or have to clean up the mess when those shops are ransacked and the guns used.

I read somewhere that Walmart had guns stolen. Is this true?

Slow down there partner. I'm a "gun enthusiast", and I'm in complete agreement with you.

You are right. The gun shop owners, and I would include the pawn shop owners, were irresponsible. And I am a Second Amendment absolutist!

However, the first order of business for the New Orleans PD should have been to confiscate those firearms and bring them to the police station. Let the DVD players, gold rings, and Blackberrys go if they lacked the manpower to protect other stores. Even the Los Angeles PD figured that much out during the Rodney King riots.

As for the equally worthless Governor Blanco, she should have sent the National Guard in as combat units and not as emergency workers. Had the National Guard and state and local police suppressed the rioters ruthlessly, the rescue efforts would have gone much further than they have thus far.

Well if merchants that sell guns should not be protected like other merchants change the law and let them protect themselves. Don't you think that the owners of the warehouses full of chemical should have had to take them also? Somebody steals a gun kills some one and you blame the gun owner. Somebody steals a car you left and kills someone and its your fault.

I was wondering about that. How long would it have taken to have loaded the guns up?

Hmmm, you must be anyother nitwit that believes that humans all have psychic abilities.

You must think that the gun dealers KNEW that the devastation was going to be this bad.

You must think that the gun dealers KNEW, prior to the hurricane, to rent a U-haul to carry all their guns and ammo out.

You must think that the gun dealers KNEW that the governor of Louisiana would send the National Guard in without 'shoot to kill' orders regarding looters.

You must think that the gun dealers KNEW ALL THIS BEFORE the hurricane hit.

Are you sure you're not a DU troll? The belief that human beings have precognitive abilities is a sure sign of DU'ism.

(Bush KNEW that the hurricane was going to destroy New Orleans, but he didn't do anything. It's all Bush's fault!)
