I believe that the president was trying to just get the job done and not point fingers. However, there is something seriously wrong with NO and LA leadership.

They (local state and city/county government) seemed no have no plan at all. How is that possible? Good gosh they have a nuclear plant within 25 miles of that city. They have some of the biggest nastiest chemical plants in the nation within 10 to 25 miles. As taxpayers we have given these bozo's 10's maybe 100's of millions of dollars to develop ER plans and purchase equipment. To blame the president or FEMA, at this point, for any of this is just plain wrong. Mainly because it too early to judge their efforts

Just maybe it hasn't been adequately explain to the majority of American how vulnerable they are because of malfeasance of state and local governments.

Just maybe if people knew who was suppose to do what and when they would think a little bit before they cast a vote in the next election for mayor, governor or even sheriff.

If this event is to be properly evaluated, countless lessons learned need to be applied. No question the local governments failed ... thousands are dead. NO was not destroyed by a natural disaster. It was destroyed through improper management and supervision. AT ALL LEVELS. The District Commander of the Army Corps of Engineers has many questions to answer on why he should not be Relieved for Cause and Courts Martialed. After the emergency was declared by the President on Saturday, what actions did he take? He KNEW the levees would not hold. What assets were sent to the city on Sunday to help save the city? What "Warning Orders" to which engineer units were issued SATURDAY? If none were issued, WHY? The President declared an Emergency. After the levee was breached, REPAIRS STOPPED at night. WHY?
