We'd still end up paying for them. Just boot them all out of the country and form a, "Nations of Liberty," with our good friends like Japan, England, Austrailia, Poland, and the rest of our true pals.
To hell with the rest. Let them rot.

I'm starting to think that these UN people have a strategy: Ask for $845 billion while hoping that huge number will make $15 billion look reasonable in comparison. Then they steal half the $15 billion, divide that up among 1000 UN officials, dictators, and various corrupt EU officials and everybody clears $7.5 million each. It's a truly audacious scam.

a tax of about $6 per passenger worldwide, with a $25 surcharge for business class, generating about $12 billion a year. But this is only the proverbial tip of the iceberg. A global tax on energy could generate tens of billions of dollars a year while an international tax on currency transactions could generate trillions. Anybody here vote for anyone in the UN?
No taxation without representation!
And no UN power to tax Americans at all.

PROPOSED UN BUDGET FOR 2004-2005 TO REACH $2.9 BILLIONThe US pays 22%. Japan (19.63%), Germany (9.82%), France (6.50%), the U.K. (5.57%), Italy (5.09%), Canada (2.57%) and Spain (2.53%).
Special UN programmes not included in the regular budget (such as UNICEF, UNDP, UNHCR, and WFP) are financed by voluntary contributions from member governments. In 2001, it is estimated that such contributions from the United States will total approximately $1.5 billion. Much of this is in the form of agricultural commodities donated for afflicted populations, but the majority is financial contributions.
