This is NBC's response to my angry email.

Statement from NBC regarding tonight's comments from Kanye West on the telethon:
"Tonight's telecast was a live television event wrought with emotion. Kanye West departed from the scripted comments that were prepared for him, and his opinions in no way represent the views of the networks. It would be most unfortunate if the efforts of the artists who participated tonight and the generosity of millions of Americans who are helping those in need are overshadowed by one person's opinion."
Oh boo hoo, their agents told them to do it because it would be good PR for them.
I don't believe it for a second. NBC was hoping one of these ignorant fools would express what the executives were thinking. Has NBC ever got anything right?
Thanks for the link. I just sent NBC an e-mail which I hope blistered their shorts.
"This is what you call a fund raiser??? Just another arm of the DNC... don't you feel so used? (Maybe not)
Don't worry Kanye West will not affect my generosity -- but my $ will not be going to the redcross or anything else related to NBC or this outrageous event.
Get a sense of decency folks... of course I shouldn't expect anything different after watching your evening news programs the last few nights. Your reporters show their complete lack of intelligence over and over. The governor is responsible for calling up the National Guard --- can't you get some of the facts straight instead trying to turn every single news event into a Bush bashing opportunity???
Get your reporters some education so they don't look quite so dumb. My 6th grader knows more about how this country is run than they do."
