Apparently the Mayor and Governor believe that the creation of The Homeland Security Dept. absolved them of any responsibility. Their response was to do nothing, wait for the feds, then throw hissy fits because the feds were waiting to be asked. It is my understanding that Gov Blanco had 8,000 LANG troops at her disposal yet failed to deploy them. The Mayor made a public statement that this was the "real deal" than got his family out. His next action was to cuss the President. If L stands for leadership, there is no L in Democrat.
