I'm one who has been as frustrated as Shep. This isn't easy. I'm from the area to boot and am heartbroken over all of this. All my memories as a young man are there.
I knew the effort was coming but it was frustrating to see people without water on television.
I'm not perfect. I've been emotional, as many here will certainly note. I can't blame Shep too much. He's from the area too. How he's reported hasn't really mattered in this tragedy that is bigger than the biggest of us. The rescue effort was coming all along.
I just keep hoping that when I wake up the next day this will all be some horrible nightmare. It still hasn't gotten through to me that this is real.

On the positive side, I am amazed to learn how long so many people can go without water and still look in good shape. That is reassuring when considering future disasters.

It's been the same for me all week. I wake up.. and within seconds I remember. It comes back. It's not a nightmare. It's real.
