Anybody watching Fox and Friends? Just a few minutes ago they did a segment on Mike Myers and Kanye (I have no idea who this is) speaking at an NBC fundraiser last night. Kanye departed from the script and started Bush-bashing and blaming the slow response on race.

After the segment, Julian began to interject that the guy might be right and was cut off by Doocy who said, "now is not the time...". Julian came back with, "but it has to be discussed...". At that point Juliet literally raised her hands to keep them separated and just began talking about the next segment. There definitely was some aggravation there. Everytime it comes up you can tell that Julian is dying to jump onto a race soap box.

I caught that - Julian almost always says something very stupid on the weekend show - today is no exception. It's good to see Steve this morning rather than that nitwit Mike.

"Anybody watching Fox and Friends? "

I was for a while, but got disgusted and am watching "Ask This Old House" on A&E -- dip back into F&F every once in a while during commercials, just to see if anything important is happening.

Believe me, as far as "piling on" goes, F&F doesn't hold a candle to Oreilly, H&C, and Greta last nite -- worse than CNN and MSNBC because this strikes me as treason to our cause.

Julian was right. It does need to be discussed. He is supposed to be a journalist and a journalist should have a responsibility to get to the truth of a story or public issue. He should have stood up and insisted that they discuss it. He should have pushed them to investigate whether it is a fact that George Bush actually doesn't like black people or that it is a poisonous lie that is spread by an anti-Bush liberal Democratic media. He should have said what he really thinks, instead of cowering behind political correctness. People continue to absorb these lies because they are not challenged. Julian obviously believes that Bush is a rascist, but he doesn't have the balls to stand up and say it, instead choosing to insinuate it and allow the rest of the crew to steer the conversation away in fear. These things have to be confronted or they will persist.

I saw it. Julian appears racist, to me.

Not based on that exchange, this morning, I have lots of respect for Doocy.

I'd kick Geraldo and Shep Smith to the curb.

These people are simply ignoramuses.

I remember reading a biography of GWB years ago. When he was an undergrad at Yale, in the 60s, he was known even then as someone who completely rejected the blatant racism of the times. That was fairly unusual for someone of his economic status too back then, btw.

I repeat, these people are ignoramuses, and if I used the words I really wanted, I would get banned.
