I don't know about transporting gas, but you could tow a car full of gas and load up on supplies...bring it all down there and load the family in the other car and take them to your place.

Can't do that cause we might not be able to get enough gas to get back,,,,then we'd be stuck there using up what little resources they have,,,we have almost done that, believe me! Family down there says don't come, you won't get enough gas to get any of us out,,,
