A sure sign of media bias: no one in the media has asked why New Orleans could afford to build the Superdome but refused to pay anything to shore up the levees. That little fact would detract from the Bush-bashing.

The Bush administration did reduce funding for NO flood control, but that had no bearing on this disaster. NO has had decades to solve this, and hasn't done it. There was a story reposted in FR from 2001, saying LA officials refused to buy into a major fed program to fortify the levees. They demanded 100% fed funding, didn't get it, so the improvements never happened. I believe this was in the 90s.
