I hear ya, but maybe the direction they wanted to go was not safe or passable. Also I think the rescue crews probably want people to stick together so that pick up is more efficient.
Good for those states! It appears that everybody, even the Northeastern states, are pitching in and taking some of these evacuees.
Right now, they don't feel they belong anywhere. We must help them find some roots somewhere.
Americans have been given abundance to the point of overflowing, and they are sharing with those who have lost everything.
A lot...and I mean a LOT of people in NO live in the projects. The same animals that were killing/raping in the dome are now being fused into Houston suburban live. Thats a deadly combination
Franklin Graham had a great idea last night....If each church in the nation temp. "adopted" just one family or group....there would be no problem.
I see large commercial buildings go up like puzzles with large cement prefab walls. I don't understand why they couldn't get the levees filled in quicker than dumping a pallet full of sandbags at a time was all they could come up with in over 40 years of "planning" for this event. I'm disgusted.
the policing operation is under control of the governor, the rescue is FEMA. that's the coodination issue you are seeing in your post.
I heard that and wondered why didn't the other passengers go after the disgruntled guy???
They need to take the refugees to the closest non-affected areas first. Later, when the people need more permanent housing, they will be going all over the country.
The District of Columbia is going to open up their giant Armory according the XM Radio ch 247 (The Disaster channel)
They have been broadcasting some interesting tidbit on that channel
I thought maybe they had remodeled the Astrodome. I never went to the restrooms after the 2nd quarter of a football game or 5th inning of baseball for the very same reason when I used to take the kids there from Boerne. Sounds like things didn't change.
Last time I was at a football game there between the Oilers/Steelers, it was very hot in there and the a/c didn't seem to be working right.
This is a prescription for trouble.
And when he found out they wanted to find suitable housing in Texas and get these people settled into a normal life, Rev. Jessie says -- I think they need to all be put in an abandoned military base somewhere in LA and kept close to home (does that translate to keeping them in a party state?)
Calmly explain to them what the governor and mayor are elected to do AND what the same clueless-non-leaders(in this case) must do to GET "your President's" help.
I'm afraid I'm going to deck one of my RELATIVES for the same crap. Spending the next few days with them and if ANYONE says one word about "it's Bush's fault" I just KNOW I'm gonna snap.
Yeah I think I'll go look at the new big screen tv's I dont think mine is bulletproof and it might not make the week...bet I could find one cheap in NO..
hey somebody pick this up: Guess what the cat drug in!
Under cover of Hurricane Katrina the Aruban authorities have released Van Der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers.
Thanks very much for the radio information.
