don't worry, next it's back to Halliburton and KBR...they have been hired to do some cleanup....
liberals heads are exploding as we speak...
Jackson then said that was bull and the Red cross lady patiently repeated exactly what the job of the Red Cross is and what the STATE told them to do.
still, I think it would help to have one official Ari Fleischer type guy who would go to a mic and talk about what efforts are ongoing.
You mean all the tanker trucks that are currently being used to shuttle fuel to some of the affected areas for the search and rescue crews to use?
Helicopters and trucks run on fuel, not water.
So all the trucks that could possibly carry gas are over there???? Doubt it! and darn, i really thought helicopters run on water,,,since i obviously have no sense
You make some good points in an earlier live thread since locked.
But the advantage of showcasing their failures with a mid-term election next year is, well...Roveish.
President Bush will come out just fine on this. He's Superman.
~LOL~
Someone posted earlier that the kid who commandeered the bus should be Mayor of NO.
"if a 20 year old that never drove a bus can take one full of victims and be the first one to the Superdome, something is F'ed up. "
FEMA should hire that young man.
It may have been a lie, maybe an attempt to get more water. These are desperate times for those people - utter mass hysteria, confusion, panic, and chaos. Nobody knows what is going on. I think that once this tragic situation is looked at and examined, they should make it mandatory that there are shortwave radios located at specific places in cities. Communication is vital.
Your post reminded me---
I wonder what ever happened to Jackie...who was in line at the Superdome and Jeff Goldblatt interviewed her a couple of times...
She had such an optomistic outlook....I hope she is okay..
I wasn't discounting the information, as I would certainly agree with you that more than 5000 people streamed across that bridge.
What I was commenting on was Shepard Smith's inability to get that point across without sounding as if he were coming completely unglued on national television.
"Shooting warning shots AT HELICOPTERS? FROM A HOSPITAL ROOF???"
I heard that here were no shotws fired - that the pilot merely swa long arms and aborted
There was one good thing that came from Hurricane Katrina, it got Cindy Shi*head off the front pages.
jesse just got in some Bush bashing and then pointed to the crowd of stranded people and said "This, this is a modern slave ship"
Anyway, FWIW, I believe the reports of hostile fire coming from more distant sources, and am content to let others disbelieve it.
You mean like the FEMA director has been doing (and getting so much flak here on FR for)? That's part of *his* job - plan before time, set it in motion, and keep the press *away* from the people who are actually doing the work.
Lots of people are willing to help out. You may want to get on the phone tommorrow and see if there are any gas station owners who know a company who would be willing to do this. I'm sure local churches and charities would be able to get the money together or maybe the gas company would give it away. Sometimes people/companies aren't aware of these situations until they are told about it. It is people such as yourself who take these challenges and help people who are going to be the unsung heroes of this tragedy. FEMA, the Red Cross, all of them, have their hands full. Good luck to you :-)
you are so sweet, and i will try that,,but considering every gas station around is owned by um, arabs,,,,not so sure they will be very compassionate,,,but thanks for the idea and I will definately try,,,,
