That's going to make one AWESOME movie scene! (as long as Hollywood doesn't screw it up) Great kid.
many of the people attempting to do boat rescues, are private citizens. they don't expect to be shot at, even if they aren't hit, in the course of that action. so even if it happens once, they all back off.
Well, you'll have more - everyone in the US is going to have to conserve (the President went on TV and asked us to) for a while until the refineries come back on line and we can build new ones (which I suspect will be part of the EO, since I suspect one or more of the refineries will end up battered into uselessness.
Thanks, dawn. Sucks to know that many people put their lives and their CHILDREN in harm's way.
I have no intention of ever arguing with you. I believe that hope in buildings is wrong.
A sure sign of media bias: no one in the media has asked why New Orleans could afford to build the Superdome but refused to pay anything to shore up the levees. That little fact would detract from the Bush-bashing.
I'm not so sure Shep is interested in girls
That is so rude and I hope the moderator is catching this. How dare you ruin my fantasy! Blasphemy!
This is a basically a large war zone with impassable thoroughfares; it takes a long time to prepare troops and supplies to go into action. I think that getting massive relief after four days is amazing. The political carping is mere frustration and...politics.
I'm in Ridgeland, Mississippi, a couple hundred miles north of New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. It is a suburb of Jackson.
They did. And they got shot at.
Exactly. As if nobody "sees" what they see.
"Span, just off the top of my head, there was the Soldier shot the first night by the dome (documented by all authorities/press), two officers shot and medivac-ed "
I am almost certain that there has been only one law officer killed at point blank range - same with the superdome.
Theres a bunch of junkies taking pot shots but I'm not sure this qualifies as snipers - they must be shaken more than a dog with fleas.
The Kel-Tec P3AT is reasonably priced, and is probably the smallest .380 around. Kel-Tec also makes a .32 that's about the same size, and a 9mm pistol that's a bit bigger.
And obviously that doesn't apply for O'Reilly's show either. O'Reilly's show goes on anyway with the wall to wall Katrina coverage, but Brit Hume does not?
O'Reilly had a taped show when the President announced his Supreme Court nominee, and all the other cables were on with LIVE coverage. Something doesn't add up here.
Cavuto's been on. Today he had an interesting segment with the guy who wrote "The Purpose Driven Life" , I think his name is Warren.
SO sorry I had to be the one to tell you - don't shoot the messenger - I'm in a ducking position
The bad news is there are ten of thousands of folks Doing without food /water/medical attention/ basic needs....waiting to be or already evacuated from NOLA.
THE GOOD NEWS.....they ARE alive and we're not putting their bodies in bags....Every time we find a pocket of 20, 50, 100, alive and in need. We should be praising God!
"If he was able to leave the ramp, why couldn't the people leave the ramp as well?"
For the reason that Fox had a single chopper for him (that's my *assumption*) and/or a boat to ferry him across from the ramp to the Dome, but there wasn't helicopter or boat transport in place for hundreds or thousands of others...and there was 5 feet of water between them and the Dome.
It may be that some people were given help right away, such as the lady in the wheelchair and other infirmed people, while others were told there wasn't enough for them yet. I don't see why this is so unbelieveable, there are thousands of people we are talking about. Supplies should have been dropped on the streets days ago - they should have at least tried.
