I appreciater your, "we are all Southerners" sentiment...
however, I kind of think that this is part of the problem with this disaster for the media, compared to 9/11.
Chrissy Matthews has desperately tried to sound like he can "connect" with the people of the Gulf Coast states that have had this happen to them...
But, he uses phrases like "the Redneck Riviera", when talking about Biloxi and Gulfport...and he just has a condescending way of talking about these victims..that I didn't notice in the media on 9/11.
I may be sensitive...but I just don't see the connect from him, O'Reilly, even Hannity---especially Wolfie and that other idiot on Wolfie's show..
I betcha on the Sunday Talk Shows, it will be even more apparent...and that is why they will be discussing Bush's incompetence more...because they can't relate to a "southern" problem as well.
There were reports of snipers all over though. At police, at firemen, and at rescue vehicles.
Yup. Unlike Louisiana, we have Texas Rangers. And I'm not talking about the baseball team.
How tough are they? "One riot, one Ranger." That's the truth - one Ranger put down a riot in Dallas in the 1930s pretty much single handedly. And they haven't gotten soft since.
Preach it brother/sister!!!!
Get the wife a .357 and have her shoot .38.
When you go, you should try to set up communication via cell phone text messaging (I hear it is still working) with someone who can post your messages so we can hear about what you are seeing. Do you have a cell with texting capabilities? I do, and I'll volunteer to take your messages and post them if you'd like.
I don't understand the deal about the stranded people being viewed as "vermin." Are you referring to their class status or the color of their skin?
Either way, the argument doesn't hold.
Looks to me that the thousands that have been evacuated are the same color and class status as those at the convention center.
And those people at the Convention Center are not forgotten. They were given food and water, I saw Harrigan reporting on it earlier in the day.
But I also heard reported, that they aren't the only pocket left. Col Hunt said they found a group of people that hadn't been rescued yet and were stranded, and the people were quite pleasant and understood that help would eventually come.
Remember the folks in the Dome got searched and patted down when they went in (even so they got guns in.) The folks at the Convention Center didn't, and I believe they will have to screen them before they put them on a bus and ship them to an evacuation center, and that could be holding up the process with those folks. (I have no idea if this is or isn't the reason, it's just a theory.)
He cannot, it is against the law for him to bring in the military. Nice of you to want it, though.
Yes. I was thinking they hired her, but I guess it is Laura Ingle from KFI.
Why do you think they let the looters do what they want, the powers that be have been looting the people of Louisiana for years.
you dont know there are 10,000 dead....nobody knows how many dead and there ARE snipers
Of course.
The Dems would love to put a race riot on Bush's doorstep.
It fits so nicely with their 60s re-run reunion agenda.
Didnt see it, but I am proud of that lib, Tucker, for standing up to her.
Encouraging news folks, many not so far left democrats are starting to see the light now.
Maybe they are scared of what could come?
I'll bet she voted for Kerry at least twice.
And in the same election.
;)
That is funny! It reminds of of Bruce Willis' line in Pulp Fiction when he picks his girlfriend up on Zed's Chopper. "Honey, today has been the single most strangest day of my life" (or something like that)
Laura Ingle is from KFI radio in Los Angeles. Does a good job. Has usually covered trials and got a lot of TV exposure during the Peterson and Jackson cases. She switched jobs to Fox this summer.
I wouldn't send a dime to any foundation that woman set up. I;m glad to hear O'Reilly is going to monitor how they spend the money that is given them by the Government.
Is she taking Linda Vester's place? Where has she been? Or is she taking Rita Cosby's place?
Interesting.
< ...or buy a laptop and sit in front of the tube. >
It's the way to go.
I'm from Texas, and my dad and brothers are all hunters. Growing up I was surrounded by guns, but I never thought about them as a life saver. I've hated the idea of a gun in my house because of my kids, but my kids are good. Plus, we'll just lock a few away in the attic in case of emergency.
