OK so you are of the "wave the magic wand" camp.
"You think teacher tenure is key to solving big problems in California?"
Yes, ANY teacher ( or the union who represents them ) that says that they could teach students better if only we pay them more money should be FIRED.
Could you imagine the uproar if a firefighter came out and said "Y'know, I could have saved 5 more lives last year, but you weren't paying me enough" ?
"Don't just hand off responsiblility for redistricting to another bunch of bureaucrats--tighten the criteria for drawing the districts."
Impossible to do it that way - If you leave it in the hands of the people elected by it, and whose paychec deends on it, it will ALLWAYS be contorted to their will.
"Fight illegal immigration." A good slogan for a poster - just WHAT is it you think the Governor should be doing ?
No, I do not believe in a "magic wand". I believe in common sense.
You missed some key words in my post--"KEY problem", "CENTRAL issues" etc.
Your one goal seems to be to pick apart anything I say.
As such, I think it is time to end this dialogue.
Have a great weekend.
