"And what about "blowing up the boxes"? "

http://www.rppi.org/lightingafuse.shtml

He had just a year to get things moving, and to his credit Tom is willing to support the Gov's props. Everyone here seems to think that there is a magic wand.

Redistricting would be a MAJOR explosion, but it appears that the vested interests on both sides may kill it.

If we don't get rid of these clowns on both sides of the aisle, the rest of it doesn't matter.

"Do you also agree with Arnold that raising taxes is the only way to "create the money?"

Nope, Bush gets his tounge tied up also -

But it appears that the only way to move the electorate in California is to remind them and threaten them about new taxes.

If he gets the prop passed, that would be a good thing, correct ?
So now the arguement is the methods he employs to get them passed ?

It is a shame, for California and for Arnold. I really did believe he would do much better.

Too bad.

It seems he could/should learn a lot from out Republican Governors who have been hit by recent catastrophic events, and led their people. Creating more dependence- What a crappy cycle! Girly Man!

It's a lousy choice.
Vote against it and get new taxes.
Vote for it and authorize more bonds to be issued.

Neither represent the position of a "fiscal conservative".

Thanks for the link. As far as I know, Arnold has completely backed off on that whole idea. If you have information to the contrary, please let me know.

"Everyone here seems to think that there is a magic wand."

I think the problem here is that Arnold is no longer talking about this and everyone is pretty much aware he has backed down. Doesn't look good.

"If we don't get rid of these clowns on both sides of the aisle, the rest of it doesn't matter."

We had this problem long before Arnold. He could lead the charge for deep changes here if he was motivated to do so. You do that by making inspiring speeches, telling the people exactly what you intend to do, why it needs to be done, and asking for the people's support--which he would get. But Arnold isn't doing any of this, and it's clear to most of us that he no longer has the stomach to lead and effect change on the lightening rod issues. Somewhere along the line, he's lost his zeal to make the changes he promised to champion if we would elect him governor.

The blame doesn't lie with the voters--it belongs on the shoulders of the guy who asked for the job.

"Well duh, the top figure says it is total contributions, not the total on the graph, but we already know about your reading skills."

LOL - On a page called "Special Interest Contributions"
an entry at the beginning of the page in Bold H1 font entitled "Total Arnold has raised up until 9/2/05: ", and NO other explanation, does NOT refer to the subject, in fact, it has nothing to do with the rest of the page whatsoever !

Naw... that's not an attempt to mislead anyone... </sarcasm>

It seems to me Arnold no longer has the stomach for the battles he appeared initially so anxious to launch. You can only beat the bastards if you don't care about the criticism and don't mind getting your nose bloodied.

Perhaps you could enlighten us with links to "as far as you know" ?

At least one of them does -

Issuing bonds to fund operating expenses is conservative?

I guess you embrace that "moderate" branch of conservatism consisting of those borrow-and-spend liberals.

Let me translate for you, since you appear to need help: I have seen absolutely nothing which indicates Arnold is doing a damned thing about "blowing up the boxes".

That ought to be clear enough even to a dedicated Arnold supporter.

It appears you intend to go down with the ship, Arnold flags flying.

Excuse me ?
Which of the current props that Tom supports is this about ?

He needs to go back and watch a few of his old movies to see how to get things done, and stop letting his in-laws run the show!

OK then, you are in the "wave the magic wand" crowd.

Let me ask you, did you seriously think that whoever you voted for would have everything just hunky-dory by now ?

The answer could be to extend the income tax to food.

Sometimes a stalemate is better than falling down the rabbit hole.

"Sometimes a stalemate is better than falling down the rabbit hole."

Valid point, but when you are falling down the hole, clawing at the sides to slow and eventually stoping your fall is better then folding your arms in with the expectation that the climb will be easier once you hit bottom.
