To: Luddite Patent Counsel
To say that they should have been moved to high ground before the storm is hindsight B.S.

I don't accept excuses like that.

New Orleans has had too many hurricanes and floods, and close calls (including 1998) in recent memory (at least for those of us alive in the '60s).

There is no excuse for the lack of preparation for a city that is in such a precarious position, and has had such a dangerous past in regards to natural disasters.

Something as simple as keeping mass transportation safe to evacuate people and casualities, because they know many people won't or can't evacauate, should have been in the top five things to do on the list of "what happens if a hurricane comes our way".
